Bailey to Jones Creek Transmission Line

KB International supported Quanta Services with polymer on the Bailey to Jones Creek Transmission Line project. Just south of Houston in Freeport, Texas, this critical 345-kV line will bring power to residential, commercial, and governmental entities, in addition to a growing number of large industrial facility additions.

Quanta was drilling holes ranging from from 4 to 11 feet in diameter, and 45 to 90 feet deep in difficult soils including running sands and mobilizing clays. Further complicating matters, the water table was at ground level with tidal movement from the Gulf.

KB chose the Enhanced System which has worked well in similar soil conditions and it delivered positive results for Quanta in Texas.
