Eglinton Crosstown LRT

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT in Toronto, Ontario is a 19-kilometer line started in 2016 and is planned to be opened in 2022 at a projected cost of $12.5 billion. Aecon Foundations successfully applied KB’s polymer system to drill 2.0-meter-diameter piles up to 42 meters deep at three stations during 2017 and 2018.  Challenges included maintaining the pH of the polymer as drilling occurred through contaminated soil and fresh jet grouting.
